RE: What I was doing while playing hookey yesterday

Yesterday marked only the third ride of the season for me . . . we just never got enough local snow (except when I was gone for two weekends in a row) for local riding.

Thanks to this last snow storm I opted to take off with a couple of co-workers yesterday (well they were already scheduled to be off).

Left from the Millinocket Club House with some freshly groomed trails. Took a few pics of Mt. Katahdin . . . but it was shy and hiding in the clouds. Also took a few pics of . . . I think . . . Abol Falls . . . which I have rafted on . . . just not in March.

Headed up to Kokadjo for a $13 burger and fries and gas at who knows what price . . .

From there we went to Raymonds at Northeast Carry where I snapped a pic of their groomer.

Other pics included some shots of Big Spencer Mountain which we rode around and the view from the top of Ragged Mountain which had the remains of a fire tower on it.

Yer makin me jealous! I watched two episodes of North Woods Law last night and I can't wait to get up to Moosehead Lake this Summer.

Good for you getting to ride your sled...Looks like it was a great day to play hookey... Bet they are beautiful trails.... My brother in law brought his two sleds up to our farm,,, we rode had a great time,, even the wives took the sleds out as well... I'd like to buy a couple of sleds as we can ride right out our back door and ride for 100's of miles, but,,,, lately the winters we've had ,, a sled would sit most of the winter here with not enough snow..

Not a beer drinker . . . was going to have a Moxie, but they didn't have any so I settled for a Diet Pepsi . . . which was on top of the $13 price for the chicken fingers and fries.

Just realized . . . I did not have the burger . . . it was the chicken nuggets and fries . . . you could also get a haddock burger or chicken burger . . . all for the same $13.

And I hear with negative temps out the snow isn't going away any time soon.

Here's a recent pic of my sister and her very distinctive Yamaha Phaser (note the pink flowers and stripes -- apparently her husband's friends no longer ask to borrow her sled) . . . up at the Denali State Park I think she said.
