It looks like I’ll need to replace my VC Resolute Acclaim 2490 (pre-2013). You can see in the photos how the bricks are cracked and deteriorating. I can find the replacement parts online, but they’re hundreds of dollars and there is really no experienced technician locally to do the work for me. So it’s time to upgrade.

So now my problem is finding a replacement woodstove that has a rear vent that will come out horizontally and attach to the TEE vent pipe (see pics of existing set up).

I’m looking for at least 2.0 cubic feet box, to heat at least 1500/sqft. Other than a new VC, the only option that I have found was a Jotul F 500 Oslo equipped with short legs to make it low enough to fit under the 28 1/2 inch stone fireplace.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for a replacement wood stove?

As always, thanks for sharing your expertises.

As in your other post, I'd agree with the Oslo being probably your best choice, not too many rear venting stoves. Most rear vents are going to be the cast variety. I would suggest keeping the horizontal run as short as possible, and possibly supporting the tee with something under it so it doesn't sag... trying to get the smoke always going upward. The old Resolute still looks good! In your limited options, I'd heavily consider the Oslo. Good luck.
