Regency i2500 Small Holes Above Door/Under Air Vent

Newly installed Regency i2500 - during the first few burns we noticed some small pin points of flickering light occasionally directly under the air vent/fan exhaust above the firebox and the door openings both on the left and right side of the insert. After letting the stove cool down we looked much closer and indeed there were some very small holes (one on the right, two on the left) under the air vents, as well as a bit of uneven cuts in the vent itself.

Curious if other i2500 owners have the same, if this is just part of manufacturing. We're waiting to hear from our installer but with the holiday break not expected any response until the new year. Photos attached with the areas highlighted.
