Does anyone have any experience or know any one who has had this unit and if they would recommend it. We are currently building a new home and are considering a Regency R 90. We are wondering if this is a safe and user friendly unit. How effective is this unit as a heat source?

It doesn't look like anybody has passed by with experience with the stove, but it looks like a darn nice and efficient unit.

I'm sorry, I have not checked in recently but I have this unit and absolutely love it. My house is small, (~1200 ft2) but it does heat my whole house, with the living room somewhat like a blast furnace at times. I have to open the window for some fresh cool air! It's beautiful and yes I'd say user friendly - though I've found I don't like to use the ash removal system (there's a pan underneath) and simply shovel out the ash the old fashioned way. No complaints here. Oh yes, coming near the end of the winter I have not used my heat pump at all this year - only wood heat. And I work during the day - come home to a house that's usually about 65-70, and build another fire for the night.

Gee sorry for digging up a 3 year old thread - I thought I was just 3 months late! :red:
