I recently changed the elbows on my flue pipe to Ts with caps, to make it easier to inspect and clean out any accumulations of fly ash. I also sealed up any other joints between sections of flue pipe with high temp RTV in hopes of minimizing the escape of fine ash at these points (I've definitely had some fine ash getting out and going 'airborne' - especially if the boiler 'puffs' if I try to hurry at start up).

I'm still seeing a bit of ash getting out at the edges of the caps on the tees-- I don't want to seal those with RTV, as I'll definitely want to open them relatively regularly.

Anyone know of any products/ solutions that I could use as a "wrap seal" at those points-- that can take the temp, and can also easily be removed, and hopefully re-used?

Thanks

Aluminum tape is fairly easy to remove and not too expensive.

Can the adhesive on the tape take the temps present on the pipe?
