I want to install a stainless steel chimney for a wood stove in my Toronto home. I was wondering of it's possible to run the pipe though the wall (about 10 feet above grade) and up the outside of our house... BUT...the neighbour's house is only 3 feet away. Probably not allowable, right?

Check with the local building codes dept. If not, don't despair. Run it through the interior. It can be enclosed following the clearance rules. And it may function much better.

Thanks, I'll probably go straight up, as you advised but the wife is not too enthusiastic about losing the closet space...
