I am replacing the gasket on my wood furnace and I'm relatively new to this. The recess for the gasket is 3/4" wide. The rope I pulled out looked like a lot more material than a 3/4 diameter would provide. Should this actually be replaced with 3/4 or 1" diameter rope. Thanks again for all the help.
