I'm not 100% sure that my installer used rtv on the 90 off the stove that connects to the 2ft pipe that goes through the wall. My question is if there is a leak out of the seam, can I put the rtv on the seam of the two pieces along with foil tape over it or do I need to disconnect the two pieces so the rtv goes in the inside of the two pieces? Thanks for the suggestions

If you ever want to disassemble the pipe go with the exterior method. I'm going to try and find a roll of silicone tape to give a try.
Using hi temp silicone RTV on the joint will make it near impossible to get them apart if you ever needed to. Using the furnace tape over the outside of the joints will work as well, and allow it to be taken apart later.
