Does anyone do that? I read about someone promoting it but I's rather try to get an expert opinion here.
Thanks in advance.
A second question if I may... I have a 16x30 shop space for this Napoleon 1100 stove. Is there a need to bring in external air to the stove?

Nope no sealant.

Sealant is sometimes needed for pellet stove pipe, but not for stove pipe joints.
