Sealant for wood burning stove?

Hello,
We have a home with a wood burning stove. The flute is double insulated and has a collar on the roof. However, we're not sure if we need some sort of sealant on the collar/chimney? If so, what type should we be using?

Post a pic of the area you are trying to seal. Generally sealant is not required unless it is on the roof to keep water out

Yes, you need sealant on the storm collar of a class A system but none on the actual cone shaped chimney flashing that sits on the roof. It will be a silicon based product from home depot, a grey color to match the pipe, I don't recall the exact name of the product but seem to remember it is something like GE2.
