secondary stove over-night burn results (not cat stoves)

Just curious of the results people are getting from an overnight burn with a secondary burn stove. I'll start.

Hours: 8
Blower: yes, on high
Cruise temp: 650
Morning temp: 150
State of fire in morning: 2" thick coal bed
Wood: soft maple, black walnut, locust, and osage orange
Stove: Buck 85 insert


The wood type doesn't seem to matter much for the state of the coal bed in the morning. The locust and osage orange I burn with more air so it cruises at 650 for longer but still seems to burn down to the same state of a coal bed in the morning.

The secondary burn stove I just removed from my house:

Hours: 6-7
Blower: NA
Cruise Temp: 600
Morning Temp: 100
State of Fire in Morning: Very few coals, had to start fire from scratch most mornings.
Wood: Red Oak
Stove: Heatilator Arrow 1490

Hours: 6-7
Blower: No
Cruise Temp: 500-600 (not sure as I'm asleep)
Morning Temp: anywhere from 150-275
State of Fire: plenty of coals- easy to restart wit hfull splits
Wood: I was told mostly oak when I bought it. It's definitely dry but maybe not all oak.
Stove: 30 NC

10-12hrs.on 8-10 medium splits
Normally top temp 450 at the 8hr mark but have seen 500
Start out at 750 sometimes hotter, sometimes cooler.

Cruise temp: 450-600
Morning temp: Never pay attention to the stove temp . . . only that the oil boiler set to come on at 60 degrees F has not kicked on
State of fire in morning: coals
Wood: red maple, elm, beech, white birch, yellow birch, ash
Stove: Jotul Oslo

Cruise Temp : 600-750
Morning Temp : 200-300
Morning State : 1-2" bed of coals (splits refire in < 1 minute)
Wood : Oak and Maple mix
Stove : 30 NC

Hours : 7 without too much fiddling, best ever (stars and planets aligned) was @ 9 hours
Blower : none
Cruise Temp : 500 flue temp (no stove top thermo)
Morning Temp : under 200 (under 200 is mostly a guess on this temp probe) but I get enough heat for a pine / cedar / small split restart
Morning State : probably just over 1" bed of coals
Wood : Maple & Yellow Birch with occasional bit of Oak (from milled ends) mixed in
Stove : Osburn 2200​
