I'm curious if others have encountered this. During the really cold spells, I notice that if I don't scrape the burnpot after 3-4 days, the pellets really build up. So much so that there's a layer of black, semi-burned pellets that sit on top of the red hot ones. This seems to really diminish the heat output.
Well last week I had to travel for business (4 days), but I made sure the stove and setback thermostat were all set for the family while I was away. When I came home, the burnpot was overflowing with the semi-burned pellets I described... see attached photos.
Anyone know what causes this or how to prevent it? I have my feed rate set to 3-4.
Thanks!
