Hello all,

I was hoping to get some advice on whether or not I will get a better burn time and control-ability if I closed up the small air intake at the inside to of my andirons? I was thinking about taking the andirons out all together to fit a fuller load. they are about 6" inside the firebox. IT drives me mad they way they made it.

So do you all think I have to have the added air at the bottom of the firebox?

you can see them in this pic I pulled offline.

Are you able to provide a closer photo of what you are describing?

Are you saying when removing the andirons there is a hole?

Thanks.
