Snapstat - Replacement

Has anyone replaced the Jotul Snapstat with a generic magnetic one? Many sold on Amazon at half the price.
I have a Jotul Rockland C550 with a very inconsistently operating Snapstat.

As long as it fits in your unit & is calibrated to the same On/Off temps it should be fine
