Has anyone ordered from South Shore wood pellets in Hollbrook MA this year? I ordered 6 tons of barefoot a month ago and I am completely left in the dark as to when I will receive them.....Every time you call all you get is a machine that says they are not taking anymore orders? Just wondering if anyone has had the same experience?? It makes me a bit worried as they are already paid for....

I received 3.6 tons of La Crete from them last week. When I called back to confirm the delivery, I got there voicemail. I left a message and they eventually got back to me. It took about a month from the time I ordered and paid before they were delivered.
 
I ordered and received 5 tons a couple of weeks ago. There was a four week wait at that time. I visited the office one day to find out when I would get it and they had stacks and stacks of order slips to fill. When the truck came, the driver said they only had the one truck and he was the only driver. I've been using them for several years - I would keep calling or just drive by if you're in the area. They're all right, but if you can pick up your order, you might be better off.
 
I bought from them a few years ago, I am not very comfortable paying them then waiting 4-6 weeks for my product. I just got a uneasy feeling........ That and the surprise delivery fee that I had to pay on delivery. I do not mind paying the fee, I just would rather know upfront it needed to be paid separately on delivery.
FWIW, I did get the product and the driver was as helpful as possible moving the pellets to where I wanted them.

They gave me the option as to when to pay, and I paid once the delivery was scheduled because the driver has no credit card readiness. I think I could have paid COD, and I have paid them in cash upon delivery in the past.
 
I bought 3.6 tons of La Crete from them in the beginning of August and they called me 2 weeks later to deliver, no issues.
 
I ordered and paid for 5 tons of Barefoot from them in April. They were delivered in August. New owners (1year) . Must have a different way of doing things.All is well now, but they did give me a few anxious moments!
 
Not certain about the distributor your referring to, but another distributor of Barefoot states on its website that they had already ordered their allocation from barefoot and posted the following:

WE HAVE SOLD OUT OF OUR GUARANTEED PELLET DELIVERIES FROM OUR SUPPLIER. STARTING IN OCTOBER, WE WILL HAVE LIMITED SUPPLIES OF BAG SALES. PLEASE CHECK OUR WEBSITE AFTER OCTOBER 2 TO CHECK ON AVAILABILITY.
 
Well they lost me as a customer. placed my order 1st sept and still no pellets. I have used them a lot before but it would seem they didn't want to turn away anyone.

And got way over there heads, just my thoughts.

The good that came out of it was I saved myself 200 bucks and got more le cretes that I love. of course after moving 5 tons friday I'm a little tired.

The whole pellet shortage is no joke and it all depends on where u live and what u like to burn. don't get me wrong there pellets out there just stuff that I won't burn.

Last year's story. on wait list canawick brick. no call that they had arrived at their store. I called they were in, paid picked up 1/2 ton. I told them I'd be back in a couple of days to pick the balance which was totally paid in full. two days later, none available? after considerable bitching, got my other 1/2 ton.

this year again on wait list, no call they were in. once again I call. low and behold they had arrived. pay and pick a 1/2 and tell the sales person i'll be there to pick balance in a day or so. he tells me don't take to long , we need the warehouse space. I think it is a case of not having a system to store paid for pellet and brick, at least I hope that's what it is.

I guess you pester them and you'll get your pellets. otherwise borrow a pickup and deal face to face. for what it's worth, the sales person told me that they expect tight deliveries this year as well. there web site shows they are already short on many pellets brand not available (broken link removed)

Why would you think they should hold your pellets. there going out of there way for you on that one. I would never pay and say be back in a day or so?

there good people don't get me wrong but they really must have got ahead of there orders and thought more product would come.

I won't deal with them again its a shame because they were great in the past.

why give you a receipt and acknowledge that I was only picking up a 1/2 ton and it was ok to come back to pick up the balance in a few days. help out a customer then forget about it. ever buy something, pay for it, pick it up later, another unusual trait I have .
 
I am having issues with them as well. I have ordered from them for 4 years. This year I order in sept. Told I would have by Oct 1st. It's now the 24th and no pellets and they NEVER call you back! I already paid for them also! I don't know what to do because If I wait and then they tell me they can't supply I don't now if I will get them somewhere else.. :(

Where did you get the Le cretes? That is what I ordered from them 6 weeks ago and still have not received.
