I've resigned myself to having to drive a ways to get a used stove that fits our needs. The best candidates (if I don't eventually opt to go new) are the Enerzone 3.4 and a couple of Quadrafire 4300s. For the Quads, I think one is the ACT model with a flat top and a pedestal, but no blower. The other is a "4300 Millennium" and is a step-top with legs and a blower. I'm not sure if the 2nd one is the ACT or later ACC combustion configuration -- maybe the "Millennium" name indicates which it is.

I really like the cool ornate look of the Enerzone and am leaning toward that one but it's a longer drive. On the flip side, the Quadrafire 4300s seem to get a lot of respect here. All of these are in pretty good shape and I'm plan to ask a lot more questions before I commit to the drive or a purchase.

I'm interested in any observations you folks might have -- Thanks!

Depending on each's condition, both are good heaters. SBI (Enerzone) is a good solid company, I'm very familiar with their Osburn line, they are solid heaters. Quadrafires are superb, clean burning stoves too, the Enerzone firebox is a good deal larger too. If in good shape, both would serve you well I'd think. Size area or desired burntime you're looking for? Other large stove companies with similar stoves are PE, LOPI, Drolet, Napoleon, there are many good steel stove MFRs out there... Good luck in your search. My own stove Enviro, made good steel stoves too, but are no longer doing wood. A used Enviro (Kodiak 1700 or 2100) is similar to what you are searching for.

Thanks for your input! I understand that SBI is no longer making the Enerzone line, so I probably should check to be sure that parts are all still available. I read on here that the Enerzones shared the same fire box with Osborne or Pacific energy, I forget which so maybe parts aren’t a concern.

There are so many stove lines with a good reputation around now that it is hard to get familiar with all the options.

Enerzone is an SBI company, not related to Pacific Energy. The Solution 3.4 was a good stove, closely related to its Osburn sibling. If the stove is in great condition, it's a good workhorse.

That's correct.

Oh, OK -- I had it wrong about Enerzones no longer being in production and PE being somehow affiliated with SBI. That's great to know. This forum is a wealth of knowledge and experience -- I bring neither to the table, but I'm learning!
