Question:

Hi, have you ever heard of a stove/fireplace that burns alcohol gel. We have just purchased a condo at the beach. There is no gas service there and I was looking for a way to add a bit of warmth and ambience with some type of ventless fireplace/stove. I saw this type advertised in a catalogue, but haven't been able to find any info about it. Can you help?

Answer:

Yes, there is even a Merchant on the net that sells these.... Check out http://www.ventless.com.

You might also consider Electric Fireplaces. Some nice ones are available from Heat n Glo - http://heatnglo.com and Innovative Hearth at http://www.innohearth.com

11/2007 Ventless.com seems to be gone, however a quick internet search yielded tons of companies that sell these units.
