We have a Quadra fire cumberland gap. We are getting ready to fire it for the first time. I was wondering if this stove needs a stove grate (log grate)?

No mention of it, so I guess we just build the fire on the fire brick and over the ash grate?

Just wondered if it was needed? What advantages are they?

Thanks!

NO LOG GRATE! It wasn't designed for one, doesn't need one, and ya sure shouldn't put one in it. In most EPA stoves and inch or two of ash is your friend. Fire that bad boy up.
