Got the BK Princess Ultra up and running. Couple minor details ...

The floor isn't quite level, so I have to raise the front of the
stove about 3/8" for it to be level. I just have a bolt under the
front edge now (of the pedestal, it's an Ultra), but seek a better
long-term solution. It could either go under the front edge, or
could actually sit behind the front edge and fit up under the base
of the pedestal.

My floor is brick, so there is no "floor protection" issue. But I end
up with ashes on the floor, and they don't look good. (On the old
Dutchwest, with side-loading door, the ash residue was kinda
tucked out of the way - not so with the front loading). Obviously
I can't just vacuum them up, not while the stove is running and
they could be hot. I'm thinking some kind of fireproof rug - I
assume there is such a thing, and seek suggestions - on which
the spilt ashes would be less noticeable, and I could just take it
out and shake it off.

I just saw some fire proof rugs about a week ago, might have been home depot but Im not sure, Im getting older and my memory aint what it used to be.

Google Hearth Rug

Take a close look at the tag on those hearth rugs. They are fire resistant. But no more than regular carpet is fire resistant. They are not fireproof. They are treated with the same stuff as carpet.

Damn, they oughta be, looking at the price on the tags.

But really, it's just for spilt ashes, I will not be letting hot coals fall on
the thing and then walk away.
