I have standard 6" SW pipe coming off of my stove and an 18" length of Champion/ Olympia Ventis DW Class-A in a "through the wall" type thimble setup.
I'm using the adapter that came with the thimble, however I noticed that the adapter doesn't appear to close off the interstitial space on the DW pipe, potentially allowing the SW pipe to vent through the exterior wall of the DW pipe. That doesn't seem right, or desirable.
Here are the exact products I'm using;
18" DW section; https://www.woodlanddirect.com/Chim...n-304L-Stainless-Steel-Chimney-Pipe-18-length
Thimble (adapter shown in the front bottom left); https://www.woodlanddirect.com/Chim...System-Parts/6-Champion-Non-Insulated-Thimble

The adapter fits inside of the pipes on both ends (male to male).
Does this seem right or am I using the wrong adapter for the application?

The inner wall of the universal adapter for the class a pipe should slide over the inner wall of the pipe and the outer should be inside the outer wall of the class a. Your pipe should then slide ofer the outside of the adapter
