T6 blower ordered

I made the mistake (imho) of ordering my t6 without a blower. With some really cold weather coming I decided to bite the bullet and order one. Does anyone have any experience putting one on as an add on? The PE instructions look pretty simple, the hardest part will probably be getting the behemoth away from the wall to work on it.

I put one on two years ago. It was easy and it helps a lot.

One thing that I was not thrilled with is the thermal sensor just pushes up against the stove back. Air blows by it, the thermal connection is tenuous, and it can rattle. Maybe someone has fixed this.

You may not have to pull the stove out.

Two screws and and three prong plug within 6'. 10 mins if you can get to back of the stove. As Bill noted, the thermal sensor must be properly placed, just read the directions. Also when the stove cools, the fan will cycle on and off until it completely cools. And don't be alarmed it takes a while to get that bottom rear corner of the stove warm enough from a cold start to trigger the sensor on.

The blower makes the world of difference in BTU output as well as controlling temperature during the shoulder season when you are building smaller fires.

Definitely going to have to move the stove, it is close to the minimum clearance with a heat shield built into the wall. I just placed a noisy old blower from my Greenfield on the floor pointing up where the proper blower is going to be in place...I can feel quite a difference with just it already. Hope they ship real soon!

Before moving the stove, give it a shot, if you have an extra pair of hands, you should be able to get the two phillips screws in. the holes are predrilled in the stove and blower.

I put ours on with the stove in place. It was pretty easy. As you tighten the screws put a bit of pressure on the unit to assure good contact of the sensor.

I also made that "mistake" when I bought my S27 without a blower. Added one this season. Can't say I feel a difference but any air circulation created is better than none at all. As per everyone else, literally 2 screws. I used a screwdriver with a 90* bend 1" from the tip. Allowed me to get in to a tight space and not mess around moving the stove. Also as noted, the thermostat takes a long time to kick off the blower. Sometimes 30-40 minutes. Be patient.

Yes, the sensor is placed low so that the stove body has a chance to completely warm up first, before the blower comes on. Once the stove is up to temp it stays on.

Shouldn't be an issue, stove never really cools down till about July.

Reloads on a small bed of coals, will sometimes cause the back to cool off enough that the fan will cycle until fully up to temp.
