Anyone heard any details about an upcoming pressurized tank/solution from Tarm? When I picked up my Solo 60 a few weeks back, the sales rep said it was going to be just a matter of weeks before they had a pressurized solution available for sale..mostly in response to the huge increase in copper. Said it would be more or less like a propane tank in how it works, but all pre-plumbed with the correct fittings for an easy install...Anyone else hear something similar?

Called the people at Tarm and asked if they will be offering any storage soon. They said no. Nothing in the works. Just the STSS products.
Funny...the guy I talked to definitely said a solution was in the works, and would be out soon....
MrEd, - That would really solve alot of problems. As you can see from many recent posts, seems like everybody is interested in storage. Can you remember who you spoke with. I always spoke with Chris or Renee in N.H

If you have a tarm or any boiler you can go out & buy a new steel 500 gallon tank that's meant to be installed on a closed looped, pressurized system from any plumbing supply house for less than you'll pay for a stss tank. You can use a propane tank if money is the object. You don't need to wait for the Tarm solution.
I understand Tarm may offer a pressurized storage tank in the near future. From what I can gather it will be a tall cylinder rather than a big diameter unit. They are thinking that way to fit through doorways.

I live about an hour and 15 minutes from Tarm USA, and as part of my "due diligence" for my likely scheme to put in a wood gasifier and storage (to replace my oil/wood/warm air) I went to look at their stuff first hand. In their area that they have set up for demonstration & testing, they had a couple of huge, tall, not-yet insulated pressure tanks (not yet connected) near the STSS tank. they said that pressure vessels are the norm in Europe and that when the European principals of the Tarm operation have come over here, they've thought that all the coil-open tank rigs looked like weird science experiments. But it sounded like the off-the-shelf pressure vessels were definitely still under development and well down-the-road in terms of retail availability. they're also too tall for my old house cellar with a 6.5-7 ft basement ceiling height, so my analysis of their option for this ended there; still looking into open vs presurized storage and how to build something that's as cost-effective, thermally efficient, and trouble-free as I can scheme up.
