On my list of of "to dos" is to rebuild/replace the carb on my snowblower engine this summer. I expect that despite following precautions with ethanol that the carb needs work. Can anyone with experience with these carbs recommend if tis worth rebuilding or I am better off just sourcing a new one?

In general have always just given the carb a good cleaning and replaced the rubber diaphragms if it has them(my snow blower does not have any).
Also check/replace fuel line/filter and consider adding a inline shut off valve in the line.

I think similar to the Tecumseh carb on my old Sears riding mower. It was my first carb rebuild and was pretty easy to do. You should be able to google up a how-to post from someone who's bound to have done it and posted online about it.
My neighbor helped me adjust it, and we didn't get it right the first time. He thought it was silly that I rebuilt it given new chinese replacements can be had on ebay for cheap. So he went and bought me one just to show me. I ended up putting it on and it has run fine.
What's my point? I don't know. Maybe just that you will be equally successful rebuilding or replacing it. For me I think the parts and a gallon of parts dip cost more than the ebay one.
