I just wanted to post a thank you to the members here. A few years back I joined the forum for advice on installing an Englander NC30 and building a hearth to accompany it. I had zero experience and the community here helped me every step of the way. I got the stove because I wanted the ambiance of a wood fire on occasion and I have used it as an occasional novelty for the most part for a few years. I often came to this forum to search for answers when I was concerned about things like stove top temps or how often I should be cleaning the flue. This winter that occasional use has changed. Our electric furnace went out three weeks ago and we are still working through multiple repairs with HVAC technicians coming about once a week and still going. The stove you guys helped me install and taught me to use has kept my family warm for those three weeks and my kids are currently sitting in front of it playing video games as happy as can be. So I just felt like I owed the community a big thanks. Without your help we would be huddled up under blankets with space heaters instead of enjoying ourselves.

Heck yeah. My brother does not even have a stove but he always looked forward to power out days when his kids lived at home.

Awesome resilience you built into your life. You did that . Yes you sought help but that was your action too.

Congrats on some good decisions, from which you are dealing the fruits now.

Agreed, you are now reaping the benefits of what at the time may have been "well, this is also a good backup for emergencies". Great work, and I hope your central HVAC debacles get sorted soon!
