And this room will never smell better today, lol. Soon it’ll smell like old sweaty shoes, socks, and singlets.

It was a tough day for the kid. It was her first time wrestling freestyle. She lost her matches today 8-12, 8-10, 10-18. She avoided all attempts to pin, hasn’t learned how to score points efficiently yet. But wouldn’t let anybody out score her by 10 to win either. She’ll figure it out!

In high school we had a dedicated wrestling room. Even though we cleaned frequently we couldn’t figure out where the “smell” was coming from.

Well On day we had the practice mats rolled up and out in the gym for a JV meet. And someone decided the smell was getting worse and pulled up the old mats that were the first layer directly on the tile floor.

What they found growing under and in the really old mats was absolutely disgusting. The old mats weren’t salvageable and they hired pros to come clean up and disinfect.

Lol. I bet that can get pretty bad!

In high school we had to roll our mats out every day. We were either in a dance room or the cafeteria.

The local high school has a dedicated wrestling room for the boys, but the girl’s practice in the cafeteria. I’m just happy we have a dedicated budget line next year!
