[Hearth.com] The ultimate snow-rig

I like the camper up top...don't see a stove pipe though, but could be added. And an elevator to carry me up and down.
It has a serious Alde all-season, hydronic heating system, good for negative temp comfort. No elevator, just a short hike to get in.

I could use that on the beach
Yes you could use it on the beach, in the snow and in the swamp. I worked out of one many years ago on a seismic surveying job. It was a Bombardier 1970 vintage, 4 cylinder Ford engine. What a blast driving it, the operator was the only limitation of where it would go. I only ever used it during the winter, nice to have a heater, AM/FM radio and completely enclosed cab. The juniors of the crew were using skidoos and were envious of us seniors that had the Cadillac of transportation.

Best surveying job I ever had in my 35 years of surveying.

What is seismic surveying? I bet that enclosed cab was nice for sure. The closest thing I've seen is maybe at a ski hill or trail groomer.

As a seismic surveyor our responsibility was to layout shotpoint and geophone locations as per design parameters. Shotpoints is where a drill drills a hole and puts explosives in it and the geophones are “listening devices” that measure the vibrations during the blasting sequence.

Once the program is completed the Geophysicists and Geologists do their magic and determine drilling targets for potential oil and/or gas deposits.

Other industries use seismic technology to determine/best guess subsurface geology.

If y'all want to try it out you can book a vacation in this camper, high on a BC snowfield. It's just $40,000 a night for a luxury week's vacation.
