Question:
I use a magnetic stove thermometer and put it on the 45 degree angled side just down from the stove's top surface and towards the back of the stove. How's the location? I think it's an older model (the glass soots up unless I burn it hot, which I try to do per your direction). The manual says max temp is 700 degrees. If I get the temps between 500 and 700, am I keeping it hot enough? Thanks for your web site! -JBT
Answer:
As long as it is on a single wall section of the stove, and at near the stove top - this should be OK. Yes, a temperature on the stove surface of 500 to 700 degrees is great.
