Hey everyone, I'm new to the site.

So I've just installed a wood stove in the basement. 1000 sq. ft bungalow. very well insulated. I have an electric furnace as a back-up. The thermostat is located on the main floor. What I'm trying to accomplish is to have my furnace fan (fan only) kick on at say 18 degrees to circulate the warm air from downstairs to upstairs.
And say, for one reason or another the fire isn't stoked, the electric furnace would kick on at 16 degrees.

I'm aware that this can be done with a two thermostat set up but I'm trying to get it done with only one.
I've been looking into the multistage options on the new thermostats but not having an H VAC background I'm having trouble figuring them out.

Thanks.
