- Dry wood is everything and most of your problems go away when you use it.
- Magic Heat reclaimers are just not worth the creosote they produce.
- You can get a *great* wood stove for less than $1000
- Super Cedars are the shnizzle.
- scrounging wood is every wood burner's birthright.
- if you carry a chainsaw at all times in your pickup you are not a redneck
- You can never have too much seasoned wood on hand
- If you actually enjoy chopping, splitting, stacking and carrying wood then you are truly blessed.

my N.Y.R - stop trying to outhink the people who design wood stoves for a living.

Anyone else ?

After the dry wood lesson, the next one on the list for me is having it under a roof before the heating season starts. Makes everything easier especially if get any real snow.

Agreed! I am sure you have had the same issues we had here in PA, Solar.......we've had one of the wettest years on record (I think for central PA we had around 56 inches of rain for 2011), thank God for the mild winter so far because some of my woodpile is less than desireable moisture content.....not too bad but not where I want it. I've been flapping about building it, and thanks to Mother Nature, I am going through with it this summer....

You might be a Redneck is your wood pile has more wood in it than your house does.
