I’m thinking of redoing my stove pipe setup to have the initial vertical off the STT to go up an additional foot or 2. It would allow me to have the auber probe to be in a vertical section instead of on a 45* section where I don’t believe it is getting a totally accurate readout.

The stove pipe also had a decent amount of creosote buildup due in part to I believe airleaks especially in the slip connector fitting in the 45* section. So I do want to eliminate that.

Got around to swapping the pipe today. Interested to see what kind of a difference it makes on the auber temp probe now that it isn’t in a sloping piece of pipe.

My money is on less than 100 degrees if you have more than 18’ I don’t think it will make much difference on the draw.

Yea 21’ I wasn’t expecting much of a difference with draft, but if I measured from the top of the sloping pipe with the ir gun it would be at least a 100+ degree difference from the opposite side

Really you don’t care about the actual temperature. It’s just a number that tells you how the stove is running. Mine is right in the appliance adapter. We can’t compare numbers but we both know what’s too hot and when it’s rising/dropping to fast
