I believe Idaho was the fabricator that made their own handle knobs like that.

The pipe cap dampers were the first type made, and it was not a requirement to purchase the EZ-Spin fin type dampers from the Fishers.

I remember a post this year on the history of these stoves. I understand there were a few places making them. Perhaps some added little "mods" in their shops, or if a customer requested a mod they did it? Interesting, as manufacturing and approvals ect these days don't allow that.

Yes, very early models and fabricators without a brake large enough for the double door stoves were done this way.
