time to change nozzle.

After 5 1/2 years of service (can't believe its been that long already) and around 40 cord it's time to change the nozzle, if the heating season ever ends. Going out to build as fire in a few minutes. Had frost the last two nights . It's been to wet here to get back to the woods and cut any. Farmers haven't even did any planting around here yet as it's been to wet.

Post how it goes. Since you've run hot and hard with storage hopefully your side plates are not glued in like mine were. I finally pulverized the nozzle which in the end really wasn't too hard then was able to extract the side plates without damaging them (ideally pull side plates first then lift out nozzle). I used a right angle grinder with the same grinding wheel used for sharpening the bush hog blades to trim the nozzle to drop in. Pretty good probability the nozzle won't just drop in. Hope it's relatively painless.

Did you replace the seal between the nozzle and the lower refractory ? Pretty sure mine needs replaced. Not sure if it's just door seal stuf and what size ? will probably replace the lower refractory also and save the old for emergency back up if they come out without crumbling.

Sorry... Been busy. I reused the rope gasket. Looked fine. You get the old stuff out yet? I gotta replace the lower door ceramic. Nozzle's good since using a shield.
