Over time it seems like the handle for the top load door and bypass/damper has come loose or has been loose.

When I close the bypass and push down it sometime floates forward when the stove is hot??

Also the handle has movement left and right and does not seem secure???

Are any of these a problem??
 
Sounds like you need to tighten the damper.

Look in the manual for instructions on how to perform this adjustment.
