I just got the inspection and signed the papers to get a kozy heat z42 cd installed.Anybody have any suggestions ?I hope this will be a good choice for my house.I have a 1200 sq foot ranch house ,the installer said he would install one in his new house, anybody have any complaints on these?

So you are getting a new stove. Have you already got the fuel? Please don't make the common mistake of installing a nice new stove without considering the fuel you will use in it. If you don't have it now, you will be very hard pressed to find any decently seasoned wood now. Remember, almost all wood needs a year or at least a summer to dry or season; and that is after it has been split and stacked.

Congratulations and we hope you enjoy it for many years.

I'll second Backwoods Savage - Make sure you check for good end-checking (forgive me if you know this already), bark falling off, and a hollow sound when you knock the pieces together. Or, even better, get a moisture meter - you're looking for 20% moisture. Moisture meter takes away the guesswork - kind of like if you could just cut open the melons in the store instead of knocking on 'em to see if they're ripe :) lol

I haven't burned in a Kozy but I'm sure others on the forum have. Best of luck to you - be sure to upload some photos of your new stove burnin'!
