Has anyone bought and used any really good pellets from TSC?
not talking HD standard ashy stuff but good low ash like some that HD actually get once in a blue moon
like Blazers, AWFWP etc...
I read the reviews on the TRC site and rarely has anyone have any good comments on pellets bought there..

Your question is difficult to answer because the TSC's in different areas get different pellets. Some will chime in shortly but I've had pretty good performance from some of their brands but lousy performance from others and a lot depends on your stove, too. Most recently, Pure Fire was getting good reviews. Also, don't overlook their equine bedding pellets (the blond-colored ones). Some folks, including myself, have done well with them.

running a HarmanP61A and have burned not only rhe ashiest from HD But the longest pellets out there with no problems.
O'malley's hardwoods.. great heat but jesus H are they long sized.....plus they leave some hardass carbon speedbumps.
have heard about the horse bedding pellets. are they ashy?

For me, the equine pellets were somewhat ashy, but less ashy than several other brands I tried this year.

For the last 5 years (since corn went through the roof), I've bought all my pellets (6 ton a year) from our local TSC and they have been Sets every time. I pre buy in the fall, every year.

Next year will be corn instead. With pellets going up and corn staying cheap, anything below $4.00/bu on corn makes pellets over priced.

You need to check out what they sell in your store. Get the UPC. Around me they often were MWP which are OK not awesome but for the price most people like them.

Most people only leave crappy reviews.

I buy my Somerset's from TSC. They burn really good for me, good heat, low ash.

TSC here had some odd ball pellet brand so I just grabbed a few bags of their equines for s&g's. Much to my surprise they burned very well and that will be my go to pellet when I cant find Somersets.

I wish TSC in my area carried Somerset's but in their absence, I would not be disappointed if there were four tons of equine pellets in my garage next fall. In my area, they normally sell for $5.99 a bag with a 5% discount for buying a ton or more but they ran a sale where it was $5 a bag for a few weeks in Jan-Feb time frame.

I have burned Greenway Pellets from TSC and they have been good.

This years were 3 tons of TSC bagged Cheat Rivers. They were just Ok, but ash is high. Currently the TSC in Little Egg Harbor is selling Pro pellets. They have their fans, from what I read. One thing about site reviews ( Like TSC): Folks are more likely to post a review if they have a bad experience.

Yes, but only because I purchase them on the spot, transport and store them (This is during their July lay away sale) $225/ ton. This late fall, early winter, I purchased a ton on layaway, and the manager marked them as ours. They were AWF's at $246 per ton.

Was at my local TSC they had plain white, generic looking bags with Ozark hardwood pellets on the bag along with the website. they were almost 6 bucks a bag, not sure of ton price. I think I have read good reviews on the OHPs

Maybe because the manager at our local store farms (and so do I) or he feels sorry for this old dirt farmer, but, I can specify Sets on pre-buy and when they come in he calls me and I go pick them up. Been that way for 5 years now, Sets every year, just like clockwork. Not next year though. I'll buy the cheapest I can get. Corn isn't particular what it gets mixed with.....

Yes, I have purchased them at the South Hampton store. But now we purchase at the brand new Little Egg Harbor location on Rt 9 as it is closer to us. We have gotten the same deal, just less miles to transport. I've bought them at the Vineland location in the past as well. We called ahead to see what brands where on hand. Not many other suppliers in this area. The Big Box stores have sporadic inventory here.

Around here, at least right now, the TSCs are carrying Green Supreme and North American. Both which suck and create tremendous ash.

Don't buy North American, they suck. Incredible amount of ash and low heat. I had good luck with Stove Chow @ Home Depot this year. The Fireside Ultra and Freedom Fuel @ Home Depot were both poor performers. I'll use them if I'm out or can't find anything for a decent value but they produce more ash and less heat.
