I had a tree blow down during a wind storm that I just got split. Can someone please confirm the type of tree. I believe it might be a Douglas Fir.

I really need to find a good resource to learn how to identify trees both live and split.

The tree was on the edge of my property and when it came down in the wind storm, it took out the power line. The repair crew cut the top of the tree off and disposed of it. I was left with the ~80 feet of trunk that was still on my property which didn’t have any branches. So I am left trying to identify it by just the bark.

This past winter was my first burning so I have little experience identifying trees. Not have branches or even leaves makes it more difficult. I only have the bark and the fact that it was an evergreen here in the PNW to go off of.
