Curious to know what everyone is using for their UPS backups. I just ordered an APC 750VA (BVK750M2) from Amazon. The approved UPS devices in the manual are now discontinued so I figured a 750VA non-sine wave unit would do the trick. I just wanted something to provide power during an outage while the stove shuts down.

When it was time to replace my original APC BE750G, I got the BE850G2 and it works fine for pulsing the fans during power outages. I ordered one and tried it out before getting a second one for my other stove.

I have a Harman P43 and it uses very little power after the igniter cycle. When running it bounces from around 100 watts to upper 100's when the auger cycles. Anyway, a couple years ago, I got a great deal on Marketplace for a big old APC Smart 1000 UPS without batteries for under $100. After putting in new batteries and running a test, the stove continued running for 45 minutes on low/low medium before I plugged the power back in with 10-15 minutes remaining on the estimated runtime. We don't lose power often and that amount of runtime covers many short outages, or gives me plenty of time to start the generator if needed.

The nice thing is that the Smart UPS 1000 conditions the incoming power which helps with dips and surges, and also cleans up the generator power. The downside is the power out of the UPS is so clean, the Harman doesn't know it's running on UPS and will continue to run, rather than shut down. I'm not sure what would happen if I wasn't home and power went out long enough to run down the battery completely. I'm hoping that if it got low enough, it would trigger a shut down, but I'm not sure. We're almost always home except for a few hours on weekends, and if it was stormy, we wouldn't go out anyway, so I'm not too concerned.

Nice! I have AIMS 1250 with couple of 100ah Batteries for 12 hours on our Harmon XXV. Replacing batteries when they need it with at least 200ah ones. Since Winter 2018 we have had some minor outages and one for 10 hours (Only had one 100AH Battery). Ran 10 hours with stealing battery out of garage (30ah).
