Used Country Flame E1 Insert

I am a new member to the forum but have already learned a great deal as a lurker...

I am looking at purchasing a used Country Flame E1 insert from a coworker. I have searched the forum and haven't found any posts on the Country Flame inserts. What are the pros & cons to these inserts? Does anyone have personal experience with these? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

He is "upgrading" to anatural gas zero clearance and has offered his old woodburner to me. I am currently using and old Fisher insert and am hoping to upgrade. My Fisher has seen better days as I have repeatedly warped the thin baffle in the firebox. The old Fisher has served me well but I would prefer to upgrade to a better quality insert.

I have narrowed the model to E1-26 based on photographs from the Country Flame website. Under the Site Map tab at the top of the page, there is a link to Product Archive.

Country Flame has always sold well built stoves. You will need to install a chimney liner and since a lot of their stoves are catalytic that may mean an eight inch liner instead of six. A lot of people here say that it is a lot more expensive but if you are doing it yourself it is only around a hundred more than a six inch kit, it you can fit it down your chimney.

You are going to need the manual for installation instructions and to show the install specs to your building inspector to get a sign off on the permit.

I don't know that you are going to find anybody on the forum to advise you from an experience perspective about the stove.
