Can someone explain the effect of having the secondary air supply hole closed at all times? Looks like my assembly is broken and the secondary air supply hole stays blocked. Could it cause run-away situation? Thanks.
I forgot what that stove looked like...are you talking about a tear drop shaped holw on the side of the stove..or a little metal flap on the back that is attached to some sort of bi metallic coil?
It's the flap that attached to a coil; the secondary air hole is supposed to be open when cold and gradually closed automatically when the stove heats up.
Sometmes the hook just comes undone and you need to rehook. Also check and make sure that it moves freely and the screw is not too tight. When it is not working you will have a hard time getting a fire to stay at the right temperature.
