Question:
I have a vent free gas log installation in a wood burning fireplace. The damper is mostly closed. It seems to do an effective job of heating the mantel. What type of heat circulators are available to direct some of the air back into the room? Thanks!
Answer:
Vent-Free logs already move most of the heat back into the room, so a blower will not add any heat to the mix. You should use a "hood", mantel shield or other device to protect the mantle..check your owners manual, the clearances are specified.
