I am just double checking before I order my vent pipe, my plan is to run the vent pipe into my existing wood stove 6" Metalbestos pipe via a 3" Selkirk adapter. Is there anything that I need to know before doing this. My wood stove chimney system is a up then out and then up again system. I am assumng that since this is a forced venting sytem that it shouldn't be a problem. Any important insights are welcomed.

what unit are you installing , is it rated for such an install? i have one of our stoves direct connected to a 6 inch round 15 ft chimney and have had no issues at all with it. but then its an interior , masonry with 6" liner, insulated. i would think you wouldnt have issues as long as you were getting a solid draw when operating a woodstove through it. make sure the manufacturer says you can first and then you should be ok.

Its a P68, there were no draft issues with the wood stove that was in there last winter and the pipe is less than a year old. How does one find out if a stove is rated for a certain install? Here are a few pics of what the vent pipe is going into

It would say in the install manual if that type of install is allowed. I think the Harman units are OK to do that but check your manual. Also you might want to get that soffit back on before you have animals living in your attic.
