Just got all my stovepipe in for this new stove. Went with Ventis double wall. Overall the pieces look very nice, but I’m having a problem:

The two pieces that make up the 40”-68” telescoping section won’t slide together. The outer walls slide one over the other nicely, but the inner walls appear to be the exact same diameter. They start because the lower inner wall is flared at the end, but it can’t slide past the flare. Tried tapping with a 2x6 and all it did was begin to swage down the upper inner wall as it tried to slide down into the lower one. Definite no-go.

Anyone experienced this before? Am I crazy for thinking a telescoping section should telescope?
