Hello, I am new to the wood stove world. I recently purchased a VC Vigilant Multi fuel 1400 from a private seller. Does this stove burn wood and coal all the time with no need for a conversion kit? It has the shaker in it. Looks like it would be for coal only, but Im not sure. I would like to burn both. Thank you

It will indeed burn both, hence the "multi fuel" designation. It works fine on wood, but tends to burn quickly, also doesn't hold as much wood as a Vigilant would in its conventional set up.

Thank you. So I could remove the coal shaker and be ok building a wood fire directly on the sand on the bottom of the stove?
