I installed my Hampton HI300 insert this weekend. I was measuring my clearances and had a question on t he vertical clearance. There are two dimensions, once says "Top Facing" the other "mantel". I have wood trim around the fireplace that is above the top facing requirement, but below the mantel. The wood trim sticks out about an inch. About a foot and a half above the wood trim the mantel sticks out about 8 inches (above mantel height requirement). Does the wood trim that sticks out an inch violate this clearance?

Sounds like you are above the requirements in both cases to me.
