Vigilant gaskets

I've had 1977 vigilant and have to admit that I don't remember during installation the groove behind the primary air flapper hinge. Can someone tell me what size of a gasket to install.

When I took the flapper off I noticed a depression just below and following the hinge, maybe it's just clearance for the rotating flapper around the hinge?

Yes I think so, but waiting for Defiant to verify. It's been years since I looked closely at this assembly, but I don't recall a gasket there on any of the original VC stoves.

Ain' no gasket there, baby. It's jes for the flapper to freely flap.
