Vogelzgang Colonial insert.

Just an update for those of you with this insert, I bought mine a couple weeks ago, and have the same issues with the wood handle, and the blower. I called Vogelzgang today and they are sending me a spring handle, and a new blower. The guy I spoke with said it is an improved blower that I will be able to actually fasten to the insert and still push some air. I will post an update on this after I get it.

Mine so far works like a charm.

Might 'spring' for that spring handle though.

Well, I received the new blower from Vogelzgang, and it is the exact same one I already had. So no improvement there. I also got the spring handle, now I just have to figure out how to get the wood one off.Looks like I may have to whack it off with a hammer.

I called last month and they sent me the remodeled fan but did not offer to replace the wood door handle even though I asked about it. The remodeled fan does work better than the original. It is basically the exact same fan and house but the cut a big rectagular hole in the top of it to allow more air to flow through it. Depending on when you purchased yours, you may have already had the new fan.

The one they sent is identical to the origanal, so I guess I will have to modify it, and they did send the spring handle no wuestions/charge I just have not installed it yet, my concern is that I cant crack the door to start/maintain a burn with the spring as it may not stop the door at the bottom lip.
