Wall temperature

Tried a search couldn't find a whole lot but I know its been discussed. What is a safe tempature on the drywall? about 6in up from the flue collar and b ack to the wall I reading about 130degrees. This seems hot to me but I meet all of woodstocks clearances. I have a pipe shield I can install and plan to but dont no how much of a difference that will make. Or am I worrying for nothing

130 isn't a problem. It can't hurt to add the pipe shield, but unless the manual calls for one, it wouldn't be necessary. Just keep it under 451.

Once things start getting over about 180, then I'd be uncomfortable.

In the meantime, if you have the heat shield already, it certainly couldn't hurt to use it.
