I'm currently set up to start the backup oil boiler when there is a call for heat and the primary boiler doesn't get up to 130F in 20 minutes or so. The setup is parallel to a buffer tank.

I'm thinking there must be something simple, like a relay that senses electric current flow or voltage in a suitable primary boiler component or the like, or perhaps a relay that might be hardwired to that component that would kick off the backup immediatley.

Ideas?
