We are looking into getting a Regency F2400

Hi. New here.

I'm looking to get some feedback on the regency f2400. We Only use wood to heat our home (exeption we do use a couple of space heaters when we don't have our wood stove running) We are having some issues with our wood stove (damper not opening properly) so that is why we are looking to upgrade. We live in a bilevel 1850sqft home. I'm a SAHomeshooling mom so I pretty much run the wood stove - my DH just cuts the wood. I am more concerned about functionalityand ease of use than aesthetics.

Prices?
How well made Regency is?
Is the blower worth the extra cost?

Any info. Likes or dislikes I would appriciate it.

I'm not real familiar with them but I do know the guy I work with has a Regency F3100 and loves it. He heats exclusively with wood and burns 24/7 from about the middle of November on. I have ssen it and it looks like it is well built and gives off quite the flame show with the secondary combustion. I'm sure someone will come along that actually has one and they will be able to give you a better working review. Good Luck

We have a Regency I3100 which is the size up in an Insert.

Couple of thoughts:
1) Maybe look at the F3100 for a place that size with wood as the primary heat source
2) Price wise - Regency seems to be very good value for money
3) Quality seems very good, no issues with our insert what so ever
4) blower - yes - worth every nickle - helps move the warm air a lot

the firebox on the 3100 - it's ~3 cuft
the firebrick / ceramic baffle, way nicer than some kind of foam or whatever some of them are made of
heat output is immense with the large firebox.

We purchased a Regency F2400 before last burning season and are very happy with it. In fact, we purchased a I2400 insert for the fireplace in the main house this summer. The stove was installed in an addition off the back of the house and with a couple of fans it heated the whole house last winter. The bedrooms were a bit cold but we only purchased 38 gal. of oil for the whole winter. We had an old franklin stove that the f2400 replaced so I don't have anything new to compare it too. I will say that my wife had no problems loading it and keeping a fire going when I was at work. She would never touch the old Franklin stove! She is also home with the kids so heat is needed around the clock. The stove and insert are really well built and we are extremely happy with both of them.

I would recommend the blower for the stove. It really makes a difference and was the main reason we didn't have to run the oil burner last winter.

I have the small I1200 insert. Very well built stove. The only complain i have is the small firebox but that was my choice. The little stove puts out a ton of heat. This is my first wood stove and it is very easy to run, dry wood is the key to a good fire. Look into the blower, it is worth the money. The Regency blower on low is quiet and all you need to move the heat. When i purchased my insert Regency had a free blower deal...thats what sealed the deal over Lopi...also a great stove. If your house is older or not so well insulated, you may want a larger sized firebox than on the 2400. I guess you can judge quite well from your current stove....
As others have said, get the blower, it's well worth it. In fact, why not ask them to throw it in for free? Tell'em you're also looking at Brand-x Stove-x & it comes with a free blower. Can't hurt.
I've run the insert version of that stove for a full year & it's been great. My baffle started to crack, not sure why, but dealer will replace it free.

We've been heating our two story 1500 sqft house with the Regency f2400 for the last couple winters. We are very happy with it, and it seems perfectly sized for our house. It puts the old Lopi smoke dragon out in my shop to shame with burn times, using the same wood.

BTW, we got the blower free with the stove, so don't be afraid to ask, it really helps with getting the heat out of the stove fast.

I have an I3100 to heat my 2000sqft rancher. This is my 2nd year burning but last year we only used 40 gallons of oil compared to over 600 the year before. I'd probably go with the biggest unit available if the cost isnt much of a difference.

I have a F1100, the next size down. It is a really nice stove that puts out a lot of heat for it's size.
The fire box is a bit small (claimed 1.4 cf). It does a pretty good job of heating my smallish house (1100 sf). I do sometimes wish I had the next larger model as it does not hold all that much wood.


Mine has the blower, but I don't usually use, it as I find I get longer burns with it off.
It does come in handy for cooling down the stove when the stove top temp gets too high.
