Anyone know what Menards is selling in their bags? $200 ton is a good price, but I don't want to have to beat the stove with the tire iron to clean it! Using solar heat right now, so burning season is right down the road. !!!

You might want to write down the UPC #. There are code registry sites that may be able to identify the supplier. Number is a 10 or 12 digit # IIRC.

Thanks Lake Girl. Just haven't been by the store recently, it's a 30 mile trip. Was hoping someone had some experience with them. I will scan them and report back. They had 3 brands last year for the same price. Their brand, Sparkle and a third I can't recall ( CRS kicking in ). At this price they will make a good shoulder pellet.

;lol;lol Same here... Menard in International Falls was getting Indeck pellets from Wisconsin. While they produced heat, they also produced tons of ash. They also smelled a bit on the swampy side ... prefer the spf mixes!

Any thoughts on Ozark hardwood premium pellets from TSC? $199.00 a ton

While Ozark Hardwoods burn OK in my boiler, I found that they took longer to bring it up to temperature than other pellets such as Indeck. I also found that they produce a very heavy ash. That's not a problem for my bottom-feeding Harman but it might be for a top-feeding stove that uses draft to keep the burn pot clear.

That's good info, thanks!!! This is my first year for the pellet burner. It's a top feeder. I have lots to learn!!!!

Menards in Massilon Ohio has Somersets for $189 ton plus 11% rebate thru Saturday the 22nd.

Is that a good pellet to burn?

Should be. They are a hardwood pellet out of Kentucky. I personally haven't burnt any yet, should be cold enough this weekend to try some though. My brother burns them exclusively in his old Whitfield insert. Loves them. Some say they are comparable to Lignetics, which are a good hardwood pellet too. I'll let you know. Where you at in Canton?

I'm south of East Canton, Osnaburg Township, on Mapleton. I've got a friend that teaches @ Malone. Farmers Exchange in Waynesburg has Hamers and Lignetics for $247 ton this month. Good people there.

Menards in Lansing gets several different suppliers. Michigan Wood Fuels, Somersets, Magic Spark (Pro Pellet). All three burn good but the MWFs are a little more ashy. When I was there last month it was MWFs.

Menards in Spencer, IA has Indeck pellets for a hair less than $200/ton. They seem to produce a lot of soot, but burn well
